Clubs & Cells

Women Empowerment cell is active in the college to empower girl students, to enhance understanding of issues related to women and to make the college campus a safe place for women students and faculty members. With a view to take up women’s issues and problems, the cell aims at creating awareness of their rights and duties. It also provides a platform for women to share their experiences and views regarding their status in the society and to suggest ways to improve and empower themselves. Aiming at Intellectual and Social upliftment of the female students, the cell stands for facilitating women’s empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programmes and other welfare activities. The responsibilities of the Women Empowerment Cell are to follow the Mandatory Guide lines and directions of the Anna University, Chennai, regarding the security arrangements for Girl Students and Women staff of our Institution.

Objectives:

  • To promote a culture of respect and equality for female gender
  • To conduct seminar, workshop to impart knowledge of opportunities and tools available and train the women
  • To create a conducive counseling environment for female gender to share their problems

Initiatives:

  • Educating the teaching and non-teaching staffs and students towards gender sensitization and Counseling services
  • Provision of opportunities and programs for female gender to be mentally and emotionally empowered so as to promote their growth as individuals in their own right
  • Conducting various competitions to encourage their artistic talents for creative thinking of College.

The aim of the OBC/SC/ST cell is to assist the students who belong to Other Backward Communities (OBC),Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) and  for supporting academic performance and financial benefits from the government. The cell is also focused on monitoring the strict implementation of reservation policy as per UGC guidelines.

Objectives:

  • To integrate and promote the students who belong to OBC/SC and ST community at par with the main stream student body.
  • To create a platform where students can point out their problems, regarding academic and non academic matters.
  • To monitor the implementation of reservation policy in the institution.

Responsibilities:

  • To observe the reservation policy for OBCs,SCs and STs in the institution.
  • Committee often meets the students and faculties belong to OBCs,SCs and STs communities, to understand their problems and to assist them in resolving the problems.
  • Creating awareness among the OBCs,SCs and STs students regarding the various Government and Non-Government scholarship schemes.
  • To disseminate and counsel OBCs,SCs and STs students of the college to utilize the benefits of the schemes offered by the Government and UGC

Minority cell is committed to provide an environment that supports diversity, respect everyone regardless of religious belief, ensure protection of everyone including minorities and act as per the provisions of constitution of India in such matters.

OBJECTIVES:

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth. It also aims to create a virtuous cycle between society and an inclusive academic system by providing knowledge and practices for emerging professions and to upgrade the capabilities of both the public and the private sectors in responding to the development needs of rural India.

Environmental Education, Awareness and Training play a vital role in encouraging and enhancing students participation in activities aimed at conservation, protection and management of the environment. It is essential for achieving sustainable development. Eco-Club is a voluntary group which promotes the participation of students in learning about, and improving their environment. The need of the hour is to create an environment friendly generation, because the present generation lives in an artificial world created by man. It is necessary to sensitize them towards nature. Eco Club can thus help to extend the boundaries and scope of the formal educational system, encouraging creativity, and empowering students with ecofriendly skills.

Objectives:
  • To arouse love and responsibility towards nature.
  • To create an awakening in the young minds for preserving and conserving natural environment and to make them more sensitive towards surroundings.
  • To motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees.
  • To promote the ethos of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water.
  • To motivate the students to imbibe habits and life style for minimum waste generation, source separation of waste and disposing the waste at the nearest storage point.

The Fine arts club of the College is the only club that involves every student, irrespective of the faculty they belong to. One of the primary aims of the Fine arts Club is to help students keep in touch with the rich cultural values, customs and traditions of our country. Apart from participating in a multitude of events, the students also get a firsthand experience of organizing and managing the events, and of course, it caters to the creative needs of the students.

Objective:
  • To promote exposure and to increase the awareness of the students towards the fine arts of the world.
  • To acts as a forum to improve one’s communication skills, expressivity and critical thinking power.
  • To enrich understanding of various different cultures and practices and introduce us to new exotic art forms from around the globe.

An Electoral Literacy Club is a platform to engage school students through interesting activities and hands-on experience to sensitise them on their electoral rights and familiarise them with the electoral process of registration and voting.

Objectives:

Yoga club helps to spread awareness of the benefits of Yoga among students and faculty members. The club organises a variety of Yoga activities for students and staff members to attain a higher level of consciousness of Yoga Education. We actively practise Yoga principles and seek a ray of wisdom that brings true happiness and inner peace.

Objectives:

  • To spread the awareness about the benefits of yoga in life
  • To teach the habit of meditation in youngsters so that they might experience more mental clarity and self-awareness.
  • To give good health and wellness to the students.
  • To improves posture, balance, control etc.
  • To motivates and encourages you to give up on bad things like anger and frustration.
