EXAM CELL
Teaching and evaluation are the two sides of a coin. Exam cell plays a key role in evaluation part. The Exam Cell in Dhaanish Ahmed Institute of Technology is a confidential section with the responsibility of smooth conduct of Internal Assessment Tests and Anna University Examinations (both Theory and Practical) for all courses in fair and systematic manner. The Exam Cell is under the direct supervision of the Principal with two Staff Co-ordinators along with the support of Department Exam Cell Co-ordinators from each departments.
Primary Functions of the Exam Cell are:
- Exam Cell is responsible for conducting Internal Assessment Tests and Anna University Theory and Practical Examinations for the students.
- Exam Cell serves all Examination notices received from University to all concerned and prepares Circulars for students regarding Exam Fee Collection, the last date of fee Collection, modalities of payments etc
- Exam Cell takes all precautions while preparing Examination Time table for IAT, Collecting question papers, Invigilation duty chart, seating plans for the students in the Examination halls, smooth conduct of Examinations, preparing Evaluation summary, etc.
- Exam Cell mobilizes the proper staff during the Examination time, and assigning them duty as per the duty chart already prepared.
- Exam Cell takes necessary steps for evaluation of Answer sheets to the concerned teachers after completion of the IAT.
- Exam Cell staff addresses grievances of staff and students on all examination related issues
- Exam Cell keeps all records pertaining to examinations.
- Exam Cell monitors Web Portal Entry

EXAMINATION AND ATTENDANCE POLICY
Type of Tests:
- 3 Internal Assessment Tests.
- 2 Two-Mark Tests.
- 1 Model Theory & Practical Examination.
- University Theory & Practical Examination.
Internal Assessment Test:
- Internal Test 1 – Unit 1 & 2
- Internal Test 2 – Unit 2 & 3
- Internal Test 3 – Unit 4 & 5
IAT Pattern:
- Part A – 10 Questions 10*2 marks
- Part B – 3 Questions – 3*13 marks
- Part C – 1 Question – 16 marks
- Total Marks: 75 Marks, Duration 2 hour 15 mints, Time: 10.00 AM to 12.15 PM.
- All internal tests will be conducted through Exam Cell.
- The Department Test Coordinator will assist the Exam Cell.
- Flying Squad is to be formed for all Tests and students should be instructed to write all the tests sincerely without any malpractice.
Model Examination:
- Model Examination – All 5 Units (100 Marks)
- Question paper as per Anna University pattern.
- Three Hours examination duration
- All model examinations will be conducted through Exam Cell.
- The Department Test Coordinator will assist the Exam Cell.
- Flying Squad is to be formed for all Tests and students should be instructed to write all the tests sincerely without any malpractice.
Type of Evaluation:
- The papers must be evaluated with key answers on the same day for daily tests and by the very next day for IATs and MEs; and the mark list should be submitted to the class adviser by all staff on the second day of the conduct of examination.
- Retests should be conducted for students scored below 50% and assignments for students scored below 70%. Each faculty must ensure to extract Minimum 70% in all kinds of tests like Daily Test, Internal Tests and Model Examinations.
- Actual mark will be entered in the web portal on giving priority to all the tests.
- All papers are monitored by the class coordinator; and randomly by the HoDs and the principal.
- Each IAT and ME analysis must be submitted to the CEO soon after every examination.
Attendance Policy:
- Even though the requirement as per the Anna University Regulations for completion of a semester, a student has to attend at least 75% of the classes, the college expects on a minimum of 90%, so that the students can perform well in the model and university examinations.
- Students who do not have enough attendance will not be permitted to appear for the University Examination.
- Any student who wishes to take leave has to send leave letter duly signed by the parent/guardian or Deputy Warden. In case the leave is due to unforeseen circumstances the leave letter should be submitted immediately after returning to the college.
- If the leave exceeds 2 days without valid reason or without prior intimation or without a proper leave letter signed by the parent, the disciplinary action will be initiated against the student.
- If the student is genuinely ill, a medical certificate prescription should be produced to the Head of the Department. Students abstaining from classes without prior permission will be dealt severely.
- The students shall not be permitted to leave the college premises under any circumstance during the working hours without an out pass signed by the Principal/HoD.
- Every day attendance details will be sent to the Parents/Guardian via SMS by the CMC.
