Women Empowerment cell is active in the college to empower girl students, to enhance understanding of issues related to women and to make the college campus a safe place for women students and faculty members. With a view to take up women’s issues and problems, the cell aims at creating awareness of their rights and duties. It also provides a platform for women to share their experiences and views regarding their status in the society and to suggest ways to improve and empower themselves. Aiming at Intellectual and Social upliftment of the female students, the cell stands for facilitating women’s empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programmes and other welfare activities. The responsibilities of the Women Empowerment Cell are to follow the Mandatory Guide lines and directions of the Anna University, Chennai, regarding the security arrangements for Girl Students and Women staff of our Institution.

Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) have been identified as the two most backward groups of Indian Society. They include all the castes, races or tribes, which have been socially, economically and educationally backward. The cell has been established to support and to bring students from such communities in the main stream. The SC/ST cell of the college was established with the purpose to empower the SC/ST students in the college. The college takes special interest in facilitating academic performance and financial support to students from government agencies and other sources. They are also encouraged to enrol for career orientation programs, which would equip them with the necessary skills to choose a career option. The cell is also focused on monitoring the strict implementation of reservation policy as per UGC guidelines.

Objectives:

OBJECTIVE:

  • To implement, monitor and evaluate continuously the reservation policy in University and plan measures for ensuring effective implementation of the policy and programmes of the Government of India and UGC.
  • To educate, enlighten and empower the students and staff of OBC categories in the university to make use of the facilities extended by the Govt. and other agencies for their educational & occupational career.
  • To collect data regarding the implementation of the policies in respect of admissions, appointments to teaching and non-teaching positions in the universities and analyze the data showing the trends and changes towards fulfilling the required quota.

FUNCTIONS:

  • To circulate the orders and other circulars issued by the University/ Government of India and UGC (University Grant Commission) and to collect regularly, on an annual basis, information regarding course-wise admission of candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes in the University in prescribed form within the stipulated date, and to take follow-up action, wherever required.
  • To circulate the orders and other circulars issued by Government of India and University Grants Commission’s decisions in respect of appointment and promotion for teaching and non-teaching posts in the University in suitable forms by a stipulated date and take follow up action wherever required.
  • To collect reports, orders and information issued by Government of India and the UGC on the various aspects of Education, Training and Employment of other Backward Classes candidates for evolving new Policies or modifying existing policies.

The primary goal of the D’Land Polyptch Fine Arts Club is to stimulate students’ creativity and help them become more imaginative in their entertainment. Students’ leadership skills are developed through fine arts. Students will be able to use two- and three-dimensional visual art forms to convey their ideas, emotions, and creativity. Electoral Literacy Club aim to sensitize the student on electoral rights, voter registration and election process. This is can be done by the establishment of Mathematics Clubs. A good teacher can involve his students in a number of co-curricular activities. Among them, mathematics club is also are to create interest and maintaining interest in mathematics using the structures be encouraged.. Certain activities like concept description by using models, understanding of problems with different views by using Mathematical software’s, discussions, lectures, certain mathematical games can be arranged. Overall this is the need of the hour to help students in having an idea of the practical utility of mathematics in addition to creating their interest in mathematics.

The Cyber security Club in our college envisions cultivating a dynamic community of passionate individuals dedicated to advancing cyber security knowledge and skills. GOALS:

The aim of designer club is to create opportunities to bring out the hidden talents of the students which are often suppressed due to lack of time. It also enables students to develop the unrecognized skills in them to a level where the student believes to turn out a creation of one’s own. The club enables students to interact with people who have caved a path in the field of designing.  In addition to that, the club focuses on promoting the creativity skills of students related to poster designing, pen sketch drawings.
